Google has come out recently at their I/O conference in May of 2026, discussing that the future of search is all AI-native. This means that Google Ads that you know today, where you click on links, are no longer going to be the case in the future. ChatGPT just so happens to be the first advertiser with a context targeting window for their ads but I'm sure that Claude and Google will follow suit later this year. The time to get ahead is now.

ChatGPT Ads doesn't use keywords; it uses context to show your ads. We will develop separate ad groups based off of different contexts that we want your ads to show up for.
The ad itself is small, however, it has a lot of opportunity for testing.
As you see time and time again many contractors and consultants come up out of the blue with next to zero digital marketing skills, trying to sell ChatGPT ads to you - we aren't like that. We've spent years in the trenches building digital marketing campaigns, websites, social media ads, and much more.

This question reminds me a lot of when Google Ads came out 20 plus years ago. Back then cost per clicks were sometimes than 10 cents. The brands that got on Google ads fast were the ones that dominated the space and ate market share overnight. I see ChatGPT ads as the next evolution of search ads and the best time to get on them is now. They are incredibly cheap and although the targeting is an enigma for most, I do believe that Thrasher and Vine take good care of testing contexts and ads to find your ICP.
Similar to Google Ads, you only pay when someone clicks your ChatGPT ad. Clicks can range anywhere from $1 to 10s of dollars depending on how niche and targeted your context window is. Generally speaking, the brands we work with need to have at least $3,000 allocated to see optimal results from their ChatGPT ads. This being said a small $500 or $1,000 per month budget for the ads themselves can go a long way in proving out adding more spend here.
These ads have an incredibly simple interface. However the complexities lie with the script tracking that's done externally in Google Tag Manager. Also a ton of the work is done beforehand when developing your ideal customer profile and understanding customer conversion pathways. Setting up the campaigns themselves only takes roughly one hour to do. But the strategy beforehand is what takes a significant amount of time. Our onboarding experience in terms of hours worked for new clients ranges anywhere from 10 to 20 hours of pure strategy work.
All you have to do is pay via credit card. When we set the ads up for you, we'll just ask for that early on. That way we can get the ads going within the first week or two that we start working together.
We take care in setting up the appropriate tracking scripts from OpenAI Ads Manager and placing them inside of your Google Tag Manager. That way we can see if leads are coming from your ChatGPT ads. We go one step further by adding UTM parameters on your ads to make sure that the source and the ad content UTMs are captured inside of your Google Analytics, for instance. We develop dashboards for you so we can make it painfully clear how many clicks are coming from your ChatGPT ads and which ad groups are driving the most clicks.
